Richard Jones maintains probably the most complete bibliography about Garbage Collection on the internet. He is also the author of the book about this topic, thus providing me with the theoretical background for the "More for C++" garbage collector.
Hans Boehm's Garbage Collector for C and C++
Jones lists a few projects that combines the concept of automatic memory management with C++. I'd like to emphasize the so called "Boehm-Demers-Weiser conservative garbage collector", which has been the first remarkable GC for this language.
